More than 100 artworks by pupils from local schools will be on show in a temporary gallery at Goole Library on Carlisle Street next week (23 January – 3 February).

Young artists aged 5-18 from 24 schools took part in the Drax Art In The Community competition, now in its fifth year.

The library exhibition is the first leg of a mini tour of the works following an award ceremony at Drax Sports and Social Club in December where the finalists received art supplies and the schools donations which together totalled £3,500.

The second leg of the tour will take place at Goole Leisure Centre beginning 5 March 2012.
