Drax has purchased two of the new generation of all-electric cars now on sale in the UK with the aim of researching their suitability for replacing some existing pool cars. This project is part of a continual aim to reduce Drax’s carbon footprint from non-power generating activities. The trial will also enable employees to test out the commuting capabilities of the electric car, as a week’s use of the car will be awarded to employees as a reward for ‘going the extra mile’ , for example in achieving excellent safety or environmental performance, or in leading by example in displaying the company values.
